Pantai Indrayanti is a nice long clean beach "bookended" at both its eastern and western ends with high cliffs. This beach, along with Krakal, seams to be the most developed with many cheap basic homestays not hotels, cheap restaurants selling Indonesian food and many shops selling souvenirs, T-Shirts etc etc. This is a good place to view the sunset, although maybe not as good at Sundak or many of the beaches in this area nightlife is limited, it is more of a laid back traditional Javanese tourist destination. If you want to have a few beers in the evening then buy them in Yogya before making the journey to this region we did this. All the restaurants we visited had no problem with you drinking your own beer in their establishments. Our friendly hotel owner in Sundak Beach was more than happy to keep the beers in her fridge our room did not have a fridge. She also managed to source more beer when we ran out, I don't know where she got it from as I couldn't find anywhere in this local area that sold beer. There is a restaurant called Indrayanti which was jointly run by a brother Indra and a sister Yanti. When she has a good reputation, the beach has been renamed by the locals. In fact, it seems much more easier to remember and the original name -Pulang Syawal - loses sight .The meaning of Pulang is go back, while Syawal is Jawa month. It is because many dolphins stranded in that beach during Syawal. During my stay, perhaps the rough sea kept many people from swimming, they killed time softly by walking idly in groups or playing on sand. The whole beach is, two hundred meters long, circled by scattered homestays, small restaurants and souvenir stalls, heavy traffic only occurs during weekends or holidays.
